Sunday Times best-selling author and royal critic Lady Colin Campbell has released a new edition of her book Meghan and Harry: The Real Story – and fans are going wild for its release.
The foreword of the book, released on April 4 in the UK, describes it as an “analysis of what happens when a vulnerable male” falls in love with an “ambitious doyenne”. It also highlights a “clash of two civilisations, mores and attitudes”.
Several royal fans of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex from around the world said they could not wait to get hold of a copy. Social media user @Readingmom1776, commenting on X, formerly known as Twitter, wrote: “I keep checking the tracking to see if it will come sooner. Fingers crossed!”
Whereas @Voicesofvision exclaimed: “I shall see if I can get a copy tomorrow from one of the stores. An early rise for me now.”
A third reader, who is a fan of the socialite, Lady C, commented: “Is this what Lady C’s been alluding to?” Other fans praised the photo chosen of the couple on the book’s front cover.
The foreword of the book also states: “She [Lady C] catalogues in depth how this apparently brilliantly favoured couple came to lose their way, how they exhibited profound contemptuousness for practices built up by a treasured institution over a millennium, and how they were unable to understand the potential benefits of their destiny to such an extent that they managed to turn their fate on its head.”
Lady Colin Campbell often comments on Prince Harry and Meghan’s new life in California after leaving the Royal Family and deciding to step down as working royals in 2020.
Lady C, recently stated Meghan is “not capable of learning lessons” and has no regrets over how her post-royal life is going. After a series of scathing remarks about the Royal Family over the space of the past four years, Meghan’s popularity has continued to plummet in polls.
Speaking on GB News America, Lady C said that Meghan is failing to learn from her “errors” and “blames everyone else” for them.
She also claimed, speaking of Meghan: “She has a billionaire lifestyle without the money. They’re quickly running into serious problems financially.”
The former Suits TV actress has been tipped to return to the UK next month alongside Prince Harry to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, despite the fractured relationship between the couple and the Royal Family.
It has also been reported Harry is hoping to bring his family of four back to England for the service at St Paul’s Cathedral.
The visit would be Meghan’s first to the UK since Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in September 2022 and the children’s first since the Platinum Jubilee in the same year.
However, Meghan returning to UK soil has been deemed an “uncomfortable” move by critics. In Omid Scobie’s book Endgame, the author made the claim that Meghan “never really felt at home” in the UK and “never wants to step foot in England again”.
