Rose Hanbury returns to the British court after denying infidelity with Prince William

Rose Hanbury, the Marchioness of Cholmondeley, has returned to public life after months without being photographed. This week, the wife of David Cholmondeley has reappeared at two events where she coincided with members of the British royal family.

On Sunday, she greeted Queen Camilla at an equestrian event in Gloucestershire, and on Wednesday, she attended St. Paul’s Cathedral in London, where nearly 2,000 people gathered for a solemn ceremony of the Order of the British Empire, attended by King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

Sunday’s appearance was the first one by the marchioness since her legal team denied to Business Insider the affair with Prince William when the Princess of Wales was missing before announcing her cancer and the Katespiracy, which was on everyone’s lips.

This shows that Hanbury and her family are close to the British royal family and that they pay no attention to the rumors, as evidenced by the prompt inclusion of the family in ceremonial events. Their son Oliver Cholmondeley was a page on Wednesday for Charles III, as he was during the coronation alongside Prince George.

The Order of the British Empire was established by King George V in 1917 to reward outstanding contributions to the war effort, and now recognises the work of people from all walks of life with honours including MBEs, OBEs, CBEs, Knighthoods and Damehoods. Without any tabloids having published any evidence, the romance was given more credibility outside the United Kingdom than within. There, it is known that Middleton and Rose have been considered close friends for many years. David Cholmondeley and Rose Hanbury own the magnificent Houghton Hall, less than a ten-minute drive from the Prince of Wales’s second residence, Anmer Hall, adjacent to the well-known Sandringham estate in Norfolk.

The couple are part of the Prince of Wales’ circle of friends when they are on countryside retreats and are also members of the British ceremonial court by pedigree. They have been participating in Windsor events for decades, as David Cholmondeley, by tradition, was a page of honor to Queen Elizabeth II as a child and later served as Lord Great Chamberlain of England from 1990 until 2022. On the other hand, the Hanbury family also has a long-standing relationship with the British royal family. Their maternal grandmother, Lady Elizabeth Lambert, was one of the eight bridesmaids at Queen Elizabeth II’s wedding.

With Prince William running at half speed on his official agenda and Princess Catherine still recovering after announcing the illness, the long-awaited image of the two couples together has not yet materialized. However, it is only a matter of time before it happens. Perhaps as a nod to her friend, Hanbury wore the same hat on Wednesday that Middleton sported on Remembrance Day in 2021, signed by Lock Hatters.

Cholmondeley and Hanbury tied the knot in 2009 after a six-year relationship. The couple met during a vacation in Italy and sparked comments due to the 23-year age gap between them. She just turned 40, while the Marquess is 63. Together they have three children: twins Alexander Hugh, Earl of Rocksavage, and Oliver Timothy, Lord of Cholmondeley, born in 2009, and Lady Iris Marina Aline, born in 2016.
