Queen Camilla has suffered a surprise blow in a new poll on the Royal Family.
A new poll on the popularity of the Royal Family shows that the monarchy is failing to gain favour amongst young people, Labour voters and Scots.
YouGov surveyed over 2,000 Brits on their opinions about the Royal Family, finding that Queen Camilla is the least popular senior working member of the Royal Family – despite recently stepping up to perform extra duties in the absence of King Charles and Princess Kate – who continue to undergo treatment for cancer.
Princess Kate, Prince William, Princess Anne, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and her husband, King Charles were all more liked by the public than the Queen.
Camilla’s highest rating came from Conservative voters at 68 percent while only 39 percent of Labour votes held a positive view of her.

Although the Queen holds the lowest positive rating of the central family members, Camilla’s popularity has dramatically increased since marrying King Charles in 2005.
The relationship between Charles and Camilla while he was married to Princess Diana made for a rocky start to the now-Queen’s public image. Diana famously called Camilla the “third person” in her marriage to the then-Prince of Wales.
The year Princess Diana died, a poll showed 57 percent of people had an unfavourable opinion of Camilla which has reduced to 38 percent in 2024.
In general, the Royal Family is least popular among those aged 18 to 24 with almost half (47 percent) of respondents holding an unfavourable opinion of the family while just over half (51 percent) of those aged 25 to 49 hold a positive view of the family.
This may change when the Prince and Princess of Wales accede to the throne as Kate and William are the two most popular royals amongst those aged 18 to 24.
The Royal Family is least popular amongst Labour voters who hold a 43 percent favourable opinion for the family compared to 66 percent amongst Liberal Democrats and 85 percent of Conservatives.
