Princess Kate has issued a touching thank you to royal fans who sent their well wishes while the royal mother of three undergoes cancer treatment.
The short note reads: “Thank you for your kind well wishes to Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales.
“Your thoughtful gesture is very much appreciated.”
The Palace typically only sends cards out to members of the public on special occasions such as birthdays and Christmas.
During an emotional address via a video shared by the Palace on March 22, the Princess of Wales revealed that she was in the early stages of treatment.
Addressing the nation, Kate also said: “In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London. And at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present.”
Princess Kate also said that it has “taken time” to explain her diagnosis to her three children – Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, eight, and Prince Louis, five – appropriately and “to reassure them that I’m going to be OK.”
Since Princess Kate has taken some time away from duties, other members of the Royal Family have been given cards and notes to give to the mother-of-three.
The postcard sent by the Princess of Wales was left blank, which is unusual as correspondence from the Royal Family typically comes with a picture.

Taking to X, which was formerly known as Twitter, Allex Marie wrote: “Back in January when we were informed our beautiful Princess of Wales had undergone surgery I sent her a card with our (my family and I) sincerest best wishes for healing and of course an abundance of love. Today I received this beautiful acknowledgement and I can honestly say I shall treasure this my entire life.”
She added: “The envelope has Kensington Palace on the back lol hubby [sic] thought he was going to have to get his suit out for a garden party (silly him) but he is just as blown away as I am to received this beautiful, and much treasured card.
“Continued prayers and healing to our beautiful Princess of Wales.”
Like Kate, King Charles also revealed his own cancer diagnosis earlier this year.

The 75-year-old monarch shared that he had been diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer on February 5 – just six weeks before Kate’s diagnosis was made public.
The Princess of Wales has now been tipped to make an appearance at some major events in the summer, it has been claimed.
GB News’ royal correspondent Cameron Walker has said that we may be able to see Kate “at some point” in the summer, her health permitting.
The expert said: “Because of the princess’s cancer diagnosis, she is undergoing preventative chemotherapy at the moment… But maybe we’ll see her at some point this summer. It just depends on how her treatment goes.”
