Princess Charlotte and Prince George learn daring new sport beloved by Princess Kate

Siblings Prince George, 10, and Princess Charlotte, nine, are following in the footsteps of their parents as they take on their beloved hobby.

The royal youngsters have been spotted taking sailing lessons at a local club, near their family home in Sandringham.

While the family spend the bulk of their time at Adelaide Cottage in Norfolk, they have been spending a lot of time at Anmer Hall on the Sandringham Estate during the Princess of Wales’s cancer recovery.

In March, Kate appealed for time, space and privacy following her shock cancer diagnosis.

The Prince and Princess of Wales are keen to maintain family life as normal while Kate undergoes chemotherapy, and that appears to include keeping up with the children’s hobbies.

Kate and William are both known for their love of sports, and it appears they are keen to pass on their love of the water to their children.

A villager connected to a sailing club in Norfolk said they often spot the princess taking her two eldest children for lessons.

They told the Mail on Sunday: “I have seen Kate bringing George and Charlotte here for lessons. You often see their car arrive.

“Someone takes them out so that they can learn the ropes, while Kate stays on shore. She waits in the club and sits on the balcony. She likes reading and sunbathing.

“Sometimes William is here as well, keeping an eye out and watching their boat coming back. It is great that they have a chance to do normal things.

“I know they have their own boat on one of the creeks around here, and a beach hut as well.”

Prince Louis, six, is expected to take up the sport as well when he is a little older.

Sporty Kate, who is patron of the sailing charity 1851 Trust, took up sailing as a child and worked as a deckhand on luxury yachts in the Solent during her gap year.

William also learned to sail from a young age and the competitive couple have raced against each other in the past.

The family’s boat is understood to be a ‘Cornish Shrimper’, which features two sails and a small cabin.
