Prince William is standing by Princess Kate amid ongoing tensions with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, according to a former royal insider Paul Burrell, who served the Royal Family for over two decades.
Burrell claims that William would “explode” if any more negative remarks were made about his wife by the Sussexes. Relations between the two couples have been fraught in recent years, especially after Meghan and Harry made several public allegations against the royal family.
In an interview with Closer, Burrell mentioned that the Prince of Wales is particularly defensive about Kate, who is currently receiving cancer treatment.
“William won’t take any more cheap shots from across the Atlantic,” Burrell said.
“He doesn’t care anymore. He doesn’t listen to the noise in the background – and that’s what Harry and Meghan have become.”
Harry didn’t King Charles or William in May
Prince Harry visited the UK for three days in May but did not meet with either King Charles or his brother William. A spokesperson for Prince Harry indicated that he had intended to meet King Charles, but the King’s “full schedule” made it impossible, and there was no mention of plans to see William.
“In response to the many inquiries and continued speculation on whether or not the duke will meet with his father while in the UK this week, it unfortunately will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full program,” a spokesperson for Harry told The Post at the time.
“The duke, of course, is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon.”
