Kate Middleton’s cancer diagnosis has shocked the world. In January, after the Princess of Wales underwent planned abdominal surgery, the palace announced that she would not resume her royal duties until Easter. Amid her cancer diagnosis, it has been reported that William and Kate will not be able to attend the Easter Sunday church this year.
As per People, Kate and William and their three children: George (10), Charlotte (8) and Louis (5), will not be joining the other royal family members for the annual Easter Sunday church at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle on March 31.
Over the years, Kate and William have been one of the royal family members who have been regular attendees of the church service. In 2023, the entire family of five attended the Easter service as Kate and Prince William’s little boy, Prince Louis, made his debut at the Easter Sunday service.
The small family of the Prince and Princess of Wales were looking stunning as they followed the tradition of wearing blue.
Easter Sunday service is a British royal intimate family event and not a public service. So many of her fans are hoping to see her at the holiday outing. However, there is no confirmation on this yet. But considering Kate’s health, this time, the couple and their family might stay away from attending the church service.
Kate Middleton’s Cancer diagnosis
After months of long speculation around Kate’s mysterious absence, on March 22 (Friday), Kate finally addressed the world through a video message revealing that she was undergoing cancer treatment.
In the video message, Kate shared that her cancer diagnosis has come as a huge shock, and currently, she’s in the early stages of preventative chemotherapy for the undisclosed form of cancer that she’s battling with.
“This of course came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family,” she said.
“As you can imagine, this has taken time. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment. But, most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be ok,” Kate added.
