Prince Harry is expected to appear at a memorial event for Princess Diana in London tonight – but he will join in after his brother has left.
It’s the royal version of putting your fingers in your ears and shouting ‘LA LA LA’ so that you can’t hear an annoying sibling.
The Duke of Sussex is set to join the memorial event for his mother hosted in London tonight, with Prince William also in attendance to pay respect to Lady Di.
The estranged brothers will appear at the Diana Legacy Award event which celebrates young leaders and role models across the world.
But things are now so sour between them that they won’t be in the same room at the same time – even through a pre-recorded message.
William, who is attending alone without Kate due to her recovery from abdominal surgery, is expected to give a speech in person to mark the charity’s 25th anniversary and present awards to 20 recipients.
Harry, based in California with Meghan Markle and their two children, will then join a video call with the winners, according to reports.
Dr Tessy Ojo, chief executive of the Diana Award told The Times: ‘It’s a privilege to have the support of both the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Sussex – particularly as we mark our 25th anniversary year.’

The Diana Award is also a charity, set up to reflect Diana’s belief in young people’s ability to change the world.
A spokesman for the award told The Telegraph that Harry will be a ‘key part’ of the celebration.
He said: ‘He is scheduled to speak with the award recipients, virtually, on the evening of the awards to celebrate their accomplishments.’
A Kensington Palace spokesman said: ‘The Prince [of Wales] will meet key staff and supporters of the Diana Award, before joining the ceremony where he will hear about the recipients’ work, make a short speech and present Legacy Awards to this year’s winners.’

The last time the once close brothers appeared together in public is believed to have been King Charles’ coronation in May last year, although Harry travelled briefly to the UK following the monarch’s cancer diagnosis.
Heartbreaking images of young William and Harry walking behind Diana’s coffin following the tragic 1997 car crash are remembered around the world.
Their feud appears to have escalated after Harry accused the Prince of Wales physically attacking him during a confrontation, Harry told in his autobiography ‘Spare’.
However, tensions had reportedly flared already in 2017 after Harry allegedly told William he wasn’t doing enough to welcome Meghan into the royal family, Vanity Fair said.
Prince William and Kate Middleton made headlines after she posted a family photo to mark Mother’s Day which was later ‘killed’ by several news agencies over concerns that it was ‘manipulated’ after she admitted to making some edits to the photograph.
