Prince William and Price Harry have been estranged from each other for a few years now, especially after the Duke of Sussex began disclosing what was going on behind closed doors in the British Royal family during an interview with Oprah Winfrey and then later published his “Spare” memoir where he disclosed even more information about his upbringing.
Princess Diana wanted for Prince Harry and Prince William to be close in her absence
The royal brothers had a functional relationship before both got married, then William met Kate Middleton and the three of them were peas in a pod, then Harry got hitched to Meghan Markle and the relationship continued solid, but not for long.
At first, the media questioned why a Prince would marry an actress from the United States, then the questions became harder and harder, and then Meghan Markle was constantly compared to Middleton, it was then that things started getting complicated.
After a few years, Markle was reportedly the victim of racism and different treatment from the royals, according to the memoir, she was surprised at how the low-key racism was always there. Many criticized Meghan for being surprised about the royals’ complicated relationships, even journalist and comedian John Oliver, questioned her surprise when there was a lot of information out there about how they relate to each other, even mentioning the Netflix series “The Crown”.
Meanwhile, it was Princess Diana’s wish that both royals would stay together and stay a close family as a Royal expert Charles Rae opened up during The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show, “They [Prince William and Prince Harry] were really, really close. And this is what makes it so sad that they’re now so far apart.” He elaborated “That’s what Diana always wanted, the boys to remain as close as possible, they had each other, and it was them against the rest of the world but of course now it’s not happening.”
Now that Harry is out of William’s purview, the future king will have to look for counsel and support from others who are not his family
