Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s ‘major sign’ they are not giving up on UK

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have hinted that they aren’t ready to cut ties with the UK just yet as they appoint a new communciations executive.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have expanded their communication team to the UK, with their new executive being based in Britain. The new move suggests the couple have plans to keep a link to the UK, despite the pair rarely visiting and having a strained relationship with the Royal Family.

Charlie Gipson and Kyle Boulia have joined the office of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex as communications executives, with Charlie based in the UK and taking on the role of Director of Communications and working as the main point of contact for UK press.

Boulia is the new Deputy Press Secretary and Director of Communications for US media. The new team members join the wider team including former director of global communications Miranda Barbot who is now vice president of programs and media operations.

The couple are working on several new projects, including new shows as part of their deal with Netflix. Harry is filming a documentary looking at the world of polo, known to be one of his favourite hobbies.

Meanwhile, Meghan has a new cookery and lifestyle show that will show the “joys of cooking and gardening, entertaining and friendship.”

But Meghan’s project has already hit a few snags, with it pushing back her plans to return to podcasting. The podcast plans are said to be “struggling to get off the starting blocks” according to a source.

A source revealed to the Daily Mail the “smaller podcast company is struggling to get off the starting blocks.”

Lemonada is said to be concerned about “scheduling conflicts” between the launch of the podcast and Meghan’s new lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard.

When Meghan announced her new podcasting deal earlier this year, she said: “Being able to support a female-founded company with a roster of thought-provoking and highly entertaining podcasts is a fantastic way to kick off 2024.

“Our plan to re-release Archetypes so that more people can now have access to it, as well as launching a dynamic new podcast is well in the works.”
