Prince Harry and Meghan Markle branded ‘experts at springing surprises’ ahead of UK return

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were savaged by a royal expert ahead of their possible return to the UK next month.

The Duke of Sussex is expected to return to Britain and speak at the Invictus Games 10th Anniversary Service, which will be held at St. Paul’s Cathedral on May 8.

Their trip has not been officially confirmed, however, sources this week stressed Harry is faced with a huge dilemma to either bring his family, including his two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, back with increased security or go on the trip alone.

But now a royal expert claimed there is no way to know the Sussexes’ next moves as they are “experts at springing surprises”.

Veteran royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told : “There is enormous speculation that Harry, when he comes over for the tenth anniversary of the start of the Invictus Games, might bring Meghan and Archie and Lili with him.

“It is highly possible, and he hinted at this, that he will be in Britain to see his father on other occasions.

“The Sussexes are expert at springing surprises and know the British media, wholly admiring at the time of their wedding, are now hostile.”

However, Mr Fitzwilliams stressed that the only probability for Archie and Lilibet to come would be if their mother came too and added that any efforts of reconciliation between the two camps should take place ‘behind closed doors’ as the royals don’t trust the way the Sussex couple use the press.

He explained: “If Meghan does come over, she might bring Archie and Lili, but this whole area is shrouded in speculation.

“If anything happens to bridge the rift and illness can lead to a reassessment on all sides, it would have a far better chance of success if it happened privately.

“One of the reasons for the royal family’s mistrust of the Sussexes is the way they use the press, believing they were briefed against when they were working royals.”

It comes after the Royal Family has faced a difficult months following King Charles and the Princess of Wales’s cancer diagnoses.
