Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s ‘In Sync’ Moment Goes Viral

Prince George and Princess Charlotte have become the focus of a new fan-made viral video after footage of the royal siblings captured at the time of their grandfather King Charles III’s coronation has resurfaced on TikTok.

George, 10, and Charlotte, 8, along with their younger brother Prince Louis, 5, were among the youngest guests at the historic ceremony.

It was held at Westminster Abbey in London on May 6, 2023, and watched by an estimated audience of over 18 million across Britain alone.

The three children of the Prince and Princess of Wales have seen their presence at official ceremonies and events increase since their grandfather’s accession, with fans eagerly anticipating their appearances in carriage processions and on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, London.

Uploaded to TikTok by user @royaledits.vsp on March 27, footage of a touching moment where both George and Charlotte bowed their heads in sync during the coronation carriage procession has gone viral; it has been viewed over 843,000 times on the platform so far.

Captioned “the royal protocol,” the clip shows the siblings being driven in the carriage they took with their parents from Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace. At points in the route, they were seen to bow their heads as a mark of respect.

H. Alan Scott chats with celebs and gives his take on what’s popping in culture.

There are a number of reasons why bows and salutes are offered. One point on the processional route where these are made is at the national war memorial in Whitehall known as the Cenotaph. The royals also bow and salute when passing troops.

The video has received in excess of 123,000 likes and numerous comments, many of which have praised the Wales children and the royal family at large.

“The way that they’re in sync is so satisfying,” wrote one TikTok user.

“I think Charlotte will be an awesome support to George when he is King!” posted another, with a further comment reading: “This is amazing.”

So far, George, Charlotte and Louis have not made any public appearances in 2024 as they missed the Easter Sunday service in Windsor, Berkshire, on March 31.

The Wales family have seen an increase in public interest in recent months, as Princess Kate first took a leave of absence from royal engagements to recover from abdominal surgery in January. She then announced that she had been diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing “preventative chemotherapy.”

During her announcement, which was made via a recorded video message on March 22, Kate said that her three children had been made a priority following her diagnosis.

“It has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be OK,” Kate said.

“As I have said to them, I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal; in my mind, body and spirits.”

The princess went on to make an appeal for privacy while she undergoes treatment.

“We hope that you will understand that, as a family, we now need some time, space and privacy while I complete my treatment,” Kate said.

“My work has always brought me a deep sense of joy and I look forward to being back when I am able, but for now, I must focus on making a full recovery.”
