Meghan Markle terrified of ‘history repeating’ with Archie and Lilibet

Meghan Markle is reportedly ‘terrified’ that Archie and Lilibet’s relationship with their cousins Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis will be non-existent in the future.

Meghan Markle is reportedly ‘terrified’ of history repeating itself for her two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

According to one royal commentator, the Duchess of Sussex – who currently lives in Montecito with husband Prince Harry and their kids – “hates” when people refer to her childhood as dysfunctional and despite moving to the US and stepping down from royal duties alongside her husband, she harbours fears her kids may end up having no relationship with their Royal cousins.

Royal commentator and author Tom Quinn told the Mirror: “She is also really worried that her children will have no real relationship of any kind with their cousins George, Charlotte and Louis. Meghan loves the idea of having a big happy family and hates it when people describe her childhood and her family as dysfunctional. She’s terrified history is going to repeat itself.”

He added: “A friend of the couple – one of Meghan’s few aristocratic friends from her time in the UK – told me Meghan does miss some aspects of life in the UK and worries that her children will blame her if they never get to see their cousins and feel as adults that they have been deprived of what might have been a fun and meaningful existence in the UK as working royals.”

The relationship between Meghan and Harry and the rest of the Royal family – including William and Kate – has been rocky in recent years, especially following the controversial comments made during various interviews, their Netflix series, and in Harry’s memoir ‘Spare’ which was released last year.

It’s been confirmed that within the next month, Harry is set to jet back to the UK to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, giving a speech at a special service marking the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London on May 8.

However, it still hasn’t been confirmed whether Meghan will join Harry on this trip or if he’ll journey alone, leaving Meghan in California with their two kids, Archie and Lilibet.

Meghan is reportedly hesitant about visiting the UK, while Harry has only made a handful of trips since they stepped down from Royal duties four years ago.

The Duke of Sussex’s upcoming visit comes after his recent legal loss in an appeal against the High Court’s UK security ruling in February.

In 2020, the British government told him that he wouldn’t receive the same kind of publicly funded police protection in the UK after giving up his status as a working member of the Royal family.
