King Charles ordered not to invite Prince Harry to stay at royal residence next week

The Duke of Sussex will be back in Britain on May 8 for a service at St Paul’s Cathedral to celebrate ten years of the Invictus Games, and may decide to see his father while he is over here.

However, it has not yet been confirmed where he will be staying, having been evicted from his UK base Frogmore Cottage last year, as the last time he was in London he stayed at a hotel.

An Express poll asking ‘Should King Charles invite Prince Harry to stay with him when he returns to the UK?’ was carried out from April 29 at 2pm to May 1 at 10am.

Out of 10,826 respondents, 88 percent (9510) said that no, he should not extend an invite, while only 11 percent (1164) said yes and one percent (152) said they did not know.

At the Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul’s Harry will be giving a reading as the Invictus Games celebrates a “decade of changing lives and saving lives through sport”.

The Duke was last in the UK in February to see his father after learning about his cancer diagnosis, and spent just one day in the capital.

Last September Harry was also in London for the WellChild Awards and was reportedly offered the chance to stay at Balmoral with the King, however, he was forced to turn it down due to his itinerary.

It also emerged that Harry had requested a room at Windsor Castle during his visit, but was turned down as it was too short notice for the team to accommodate him.

Buckingham Palace announced recently that the King would be returning to front-line royal duties for the first time since his diagnosis was made public three months ago.

In a statement, the Palace explained that His Majesty “will shortly return to public-facing duties after a period of treatment and recuperation following his recent cancer diagnosis”.

Earlier this week he joined Queen Camilla on a visit to University College Hospital in central London, where they met patients and staff at the Macmillan Cancer Centre.

The Palace have said that Charles’s medical team is “very encouraged by the progress made so far” and remains “positive about the King’s continued recovery”.

It was also announced that Charles has become the new patron of Cancer Research UK and as a result, he met the charity’s Chief Clinician, Professor Charlie Swanton, at the hospital.
