Kate Middleton was left baffled when an American tourist grabbed her hair during a selfie at the Coronation concert in Windsor but she handled the awkward situation like a true pro as security attempted to step in.
Kate Middleton had a near security incident during the King’s Coronation concert in Windsor last year when an American admirer got overly excited during an encounter with the princess.
In her enthusiasm, the fan accidentally grabbed the Princess of Wales’ hair during their selfie moment, leading a swift security guard to step in.
Unfazed by the sudden hair-pulling incident, the future Queen managed to brush it off and even smiled in the snapshot with the royal enthusiast.
Another member of the security team came over to assess the situation, but Kate remained composed throughout the episode, OK! reports.
Post the selfie fiasco, she gracefully extended a “nice to meet you” to the fan, demonstrating it takes more than a slight hair tug to unsettle her.

The admirer was noticeably thrilled about meeting the princess and quickly apologised to the intervening security guard.
The Princess of Wales however, enjoyed more serene moments at the walkabout too. She sweetly comforted a crying little girl, wearing a Union Flag hairband and a navy dress embellished with patriotic motifs as she reached out to give the child a hug.
Her empathetic gesture once more established why she is adored among royal enthusiasts.
Alongside her, Prince William also interacted with admirers, saying: “Enjoy the concert tonight.”
The reflection on last year’s eventful Coronation comes ahead of the upcoming Trooping the Colour rehearsal next weekend. Unfortunately, Kate will be absent from it as she continues her battle with cancer.
Typically, as Colonel of the Irish Guards, she would have been expected to give the salute at the Colonel’s Review, a precursor to the primary Trooping the Colour spectacle, scheduled for June 8.

Stepping into her shoes is Lieutenant General James Bucknall, who will take over in anticipation of Kate’s re-engagement in her official role following her recovery from cancer.
The Lieutenant General has previously partaken in such events since becoming Colonel of the Coldstream Guards in 2009.
For now, the Duchess’ responsibilities for this year have been shelved as she undergoes preventative chemotherapy following a cancer diagnosis after abdominal surgery in February.
Whilst some speculation arises from Palace sources about the 42 year old attending certain ceremonies depending on her health condition, there remains no certainty whether she will attend the King’s official birthday celebrations on June 15th.
