Kate Middleton will rarely step out in three colours, according to experts. Kate, who is now the Princess of Wales and used to have the title of the Duchess of Cambridge, always picks hues which suit and compliment her, according to Royal Family insiders.

Francesca Cairns told Express.co.uk about Kate’s colour choices: “She tends to avoid certain colours not because they’re ‘wrong’ but because she knows what really brings out her natural beauty. It’s all about dressing to complement her features, and that’s something we can all learn from her.”

Ms Cairns said: “I know people really struggle to put Kate into a season because she does look amazing all the time. However, she is a summer.” Princess Kate occasionally dresses in “standout shades” of orange, bright purple and dark brown.

She explained: “While purple can be a striking choice, particularly for cooler undertones, the intensity and undertones of the colour are crucial. Bright purples, leaning towards warmer tones or with too much intensity, risk overpowering Kate’s features, detracting from her natural elegance.”

Ms Cairns believes the knee-length coat Kate wore to an engagement in Cornwall in February 2023 was “too dark and warm” for Kate, adding “taupe brown” is often best for the mum-of-three. And Ms Cairns said Kate would need to be careful if she wears orange.

The Royal Family style expert said Kate’s natural colouring and complexion could “clash” with the shade if she wears it. The comments come as Kate continues to take time out of the public eye amid her heartbreaking cancer fight.
