If recent reports are anything to go by, it appears King Charles is ready to try and make amends with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Sources have told Page Six that Charles is considering inviting the Sussexes to Balmoral Castle this summer in hopes of reuniting with the pair.
The monarch has a tradition of going to the Scottish countryside every year, where he is joined by members of the family. However, this isn’t been the case with Harry and Markle in recent years due to their rift with the British Royal Family.
Charles ready to extend an olive branch?
“I can see Charles desperately wanting to see the children, and extending this olive branch to Meghan and Harry. He may decide that life is just too short,” a source told the outlet.
“Balmoral is truly the perfect, restful place for a reunion. If he does issue an invite, then Harry and Meghan should surely agree to the visit.”
Charles has only seen Prince Archie on a few occasions, while he has only seen Princess Lilibet once in person during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations for the late Queen Elizabeth back in June 2022.
A royal source stated that Charles spent plenty of time with the two children during the is it, calling it “fantastic” and “very emotional.”
“It was a fantastic visit and, of course, the king was delighted to see his grandson and meet his granddaughter for the first time,” the source stated.
Harry keen to reconcile
Ahead of his 40th birthday in September, recent reports have stated that Harry is keen to reconcile with his father.
That’s what he flew from California to see Charles when the King was diagnosed with cancer back in February, though their interaction was limited to 40 minutes.
As for Markle, she hasn’t been back since returning for Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee.
At this time Buckingham Palace hasn’t commented on a possible invitation to Balmoral Castle.
