Kate Middleton and Prince William have shared an adorable snap of Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis watching the Euro final wearing matching England shirts.
The Prince and Princess of Wales very rarely share a glimpse into their low-key family life at Adelaide Cottage – yet the post from the couple appeared to show their two youngest children in front of the TV as England took on Spain in the contest on Sunday 14 July.
Posting the image to their official Instagram page, Kate and William wrote, ‘England, your teamwork, grit and determination were an inspiration to all of us, young and old. Congratulations to Spain. W & C.’
The photograph shows Charlotte and Louis watching the TV while wearing England shirts which bear their names, as well as their ages, on the back. Earlier in the day, nine-year-old Charlotte had joined her mother Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales at the final for the Gentlemen’s Singles at Wimbledon, with her hair still perfectly plaited in the picture.
The royals appeared to be seated side-by-side on a ottoman infront of the couple’s television screen while they took in the match.
Prince William had flown out to Berlin to watch the game live alongside Prince George. The father and son duo appeared animated throughout the match, cheering with joy when England scored, and groaning when Spain ultimately secured the win. The father and son duo sat alongside a triumphant King Felipe and Infanta Sofia during the rollercoaster match, which saw the Three Lions lose 2-1 after 90 minutes of ecstatic highs and disappointing lows.
Prince George looked the spitting image of the Prince of Wales at Germany’s Olympiastadion on Sunday. Not only did the pair sport matching suits and ties, adjusting their outfits at the same time, but their facial expressions were mirror images of each other as they ran the emotional gauntlet alongside millions of England fans, both pitchside and watching at home.
The family are famously football fans, with Prince William previously taking Charlotte and George to see his beloved Aston Villa play live. Prince George is also a huge football fan who plays for a local team during term tine.
Prince William has previously commented that he hopes his son will one day become their ‘top goal scorer.’ Father and son have been spotted at Villa matches in the past, as well as the England v Italy Euro final at Wembley in 2021, where the young prince was seen to be visibly moved when England lost on penalties.
