Queen Elizabeth’s Former Press Secretary Shares Profound Meaning Behind Kate Middleton’s New Nature

Kate Middleton’s recent health update included a new portrait by the esteemed photographer Matt Porteous, and it holds a secret meaning about her journey to wellness.

On June 14th, Kate returned to social media for her first post since announcing her cancer diagnosis. In that post, she revealed that she’s doing well, but she’s “not out of the woods yet.” Along with her caption, she included a gorgeous portrait.

The portrait shows Kate standing alone against a large tree. Its long branches and green leaves shade her from the sun as she looks towards the sky.

Kate Middleton has long used her royal platform to advocate for mental health, and one of her favorite ways of finding peace is by forest bathing and connecting with nature.

“I really feel that nature and being interactive outdoors has huge benefits on our physical and mental well-being,” she said in 2019, per People.

Kate Middleton Is On “A Journey” She Has To Do On “Her Own”

Sally Bedell Smith, a royal biographer, told People in an exclusive interview that Princess Kate’s tree-themed portrait was no coincidence.

“There she is in nature, which has fortified her, and looking upward in a sign of real hope and encouragement for everybody,” she said.

According to Queen Elizabeth’s former press secretary, Ailsa Anderson, the portrait not only showcases the strength and promise she finds in the forest. It also showcases the strength and promise Kate finds in herself.

“She could have posted an image of her with William or the kids. Even though she has a huge amount of support from others, it is a journey you have to do on your own. [The photo] was her on her own; it was reflective.”
