Pretty much all royal news in January was about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s decision to step back from their senior royal duties, but Prince William and Kate Middleton’s side of the story received so much less attention, if you ask me. Alright, we know that William felt “blindsided” by the whole thing and Kate was worried about her friendship with Harry, but people failed to notice just how many public engagements Will and Kate have been doing in Meghan and Harry’s absence. And now, they’re in need of a lil vacation!
According to Us Weekly, William and Kate will be taking some much-needed time off from their royal duties this month, starting next week. While all the royal family drama was going on, William and Kate probably had little time to spend with their three children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. It appears William and Kate are looking to change that while George and Charlotte are on midwinter break from February 17 to February 21. Aww!
Despite their incredibly busy schedules, reports say William and Kate’s bond has actually grown stronger since Meghan and Harry left for Canada. “The Cambridges are busier than ever since Harry and Meghan left the UK. You’d think their hectic schedule would put strain on the marriage, but it’s actually brought them closer together,” a source told Us Weekly earlier this month. “Working as a team and supporting each other is essential at a time like this, and that’s exactly what they’re doing.”
Happily, the same goes for Meghan and Harry! Since their announcement, a People source says the Sussexes have only grown closer. “They are besotted and very sweet with each other,” the insider said.
Glad to see that everyone’s making some time for family post–royal dramz!
