Prince Harry automatically causes a major “distraction” wherever he goes, according to a royal commentator.
The Duke of Sussex has been under the spotlight since his early childhood and his ongoing feud with the Royal Family has only fuelled public interest in his every move.
But in a bid to avoid grabbing the attention on the special day of a close friend, he is believed to have declined to attend the wedding of pal Hugh Grosvenor, the Duke of Westminster with fiancée Olivia Henson.
Asked whether the decision could have been influenced by his desire to keep the focus on the couple, expert Ruper Bell said: “I think that’s ultimately the decision because if he turns up we know it’s a soap opera.”

The TalkTV royal correspondent added: “We’d be wondering, ‘Who’s he walking with? What’s going on there? Is he going to look William in the eye? What’s the body language between them?’ That would distract from the Duke of Westminster’s big day, people would be lining the streets of Chester, and there’d be a big shindig.
“If we have Harry in town, every time he turns up at something, then we know that the focus is on him and it is a distraction.”
