Little Louis just celebrated a milestone today, turning six, and the photos speak volumes. Over the years, he’s proven to be quite the character. We still remember how it felt in the spring of 2018 when we were waiting for the news about the newest royal baby, and somehow here we are watching him turn 6 years old. We can’t blame them for wanting to keep Louis mostly to themselves when he was little, but now that he’s getting older, we love that he’s been making more public appearances.

The burning question about Prince William and Princess Catherine’s official job titles was finally answered and disclosed on Prince Louis’s birth certificate.

Just like any other parent, the Prince and Princess of Wales had to fill out the urgent paperwork required after the birth of their youngest son. His Royal Highness Prince Louis Arthur Charles of Cambridge was also stated on his certificate. In a surprising revelation for some, William and Catherine’s occupations were also recorded on the paperwork. The surprising job title entry states they are Prince and Princess of the United Kingdom.

Unlike most parents waiting in line at the registration offices, a registrar traveled to Kensington Palace, where William signed the document from the comfort of his home. We love watching Louis grow up alongside his older siblings, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, and we can’t wait to see where the future takes him.

Everyone’s hearts just about melted when his parents shared this photo of Louis on their Instagram account. And to make it even better, Catherine took the picture herself. He’s been entertaining the nation with his playful and spontaneous behavior and body language, but in his birthday photo, there’s a calmness about him that appears to be influenced by Prince William. It’s the grin that says it all, and he’s smiling ear to ear at his mother. Louis is seen laying flat on his stomach with legs kicked up behind him. According to London-based professional photographer Glenn Gratton, Prince Louis’s photo was not likely retouched at all and shows a perfectly candid family snap. The princess is clearly more advanced with her photography. Her pictures have improved year by year, and she’s not trying to make him look like a waxwork. Some parents over-filter their children’s pictures.

With his hilarious, unpredictable behavior, playful antics, and animated expressions, the mischievous royal is adored for his charm and unpredictability. The public delights in watching the lively prince behaving just like any other young child, and his parents are all too aware of his appeal.

The little boy really came into his own at the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations. While Louis’s older siblings, Prince George (then eight) and Princess Charlotte (seven), were on their best behavior, the event was far too exciting for four-year-old Louis. From sticking his tongue out and shushing his mom to pretending to be a lion, jumping seats to sit with his granddad Charles’s lap, and singing and dancing in his seat, Louis was on top form.

His appearance on the balcony of Buckingham Palace to watch the flypast was no less endearing. Louis alternately waved, pulled faces, and covered his ears as the plane soared overhead. He was also seen enthusiastically asking his great-grandmother, the late Queen, some questions as she bent down to talk to him.

Every single time we see Louis out and about with his family, he somehow looks like he’s brewing some type of scheme. Not even Easter morning church service was safe from Louis’s mischievous thoughts, as we could tell by his expression in this 2023 picture.

Something about Prince Louis’s mischievous little grin reminds us so much of a young Prince Harry. After seeing this photo his mom posted in honor of his sixth birthday, we can’t help but wonder if he too will be the wild card of Will and Catherine’s kids. We’re here for it.
