Prince William and Kate Middleton’s endearing nicknames for each other

As they celebrate their 13th wedding anniversary this month,Prince Williamand Kate Middleton, affectionately known as the Prince and Princess of Wales, continue to captivate the public with their blend of royal grace and personal warmth. This elegant couple, parents to Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, hold more than just regal titles-they share sweet, affectionate nicknames that add a layer of intimacy to their high-profile lives.

Royal editor Ingrid Seward, speaking to The Sun’s Royal Show, revealed the couple’s playful side with their informal pet names. According to Seward, Prince William was affectionately dubbed “Big Willie” while Kate was lovingly called “Babykins” in their earlier days. These nicknames, Seward notes, are subject to change, reflecting the dynamic nature of their relationship.

The tradition of intimate nicknames extends across the royal family, providing a glimpse into their private lives. King Charles affectionately refers to Queen Camilla as “darling” or “beloved,” echoing his heartfelt addresses to the late Queen as his “beloved mother.”

Meanwhile, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, also share their own set of nicknames. Known publicly as “H” and “Meg,” their affectionate terminology hints at deeper, undisclosed endearments. Meghan herself holds a collection of familial nicknames ranging from “Flower” and “Bean” to “Tungsten,” the latter bestowed by Charles, symbolizing her resilience.

Sweet nothings: The Royal Couples love story

Reflecting on the royal couple’s relationship, Seward praised William and Kate for their mutual support and genuine connection. Unlike the more publicly affectionate Duke and Duchess of Sussex, William and Kate exhibit a subtler form of affection, characterized by shared laughter and occasional touch, underscoring a deep and comfortable bond.

Their love story began at St Salvator’s Hall, affectionately known as Sally’s, where they both studied at the University. While initially studying History of Art, William soon switched to Geography but was quickly captivated by Kate, then known as “the prettiest girl in Sally’s” and “Beautiful Kate.” Over time, it was Kate’s sense of humor that truly caught William’s attention, leading to a deep and lasting connection.

William himself has spoken about their early days, recalling how their shared laughter and interests laid the foundation for a relationship that would eventually lead to marriage and family life. Their union was solidified in a grand wedding in 2011, marking the beginning of their journey as a family.

As they celebrate another year of marriage, it’s clear that Prince William and Kate Middleton not only share a deep affection but also support and inspire each other, continuing to embody the virtues of a modern royal partnership while nurturing a family grounded in love and laughter.
