Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet could make major UK return next month

Prince Harry in ‘painful place’ after writing about Kate Middleton in ‘Spare’: expert

Prince Harry is expected to return to the UK next month to mark a special anniversary for the Invictus Games, and he may bring his wife and children with him for a rare visit.

King Charles III’s second son will reportedly touch down in London to speak at an event honouring the Games’ 10th anniversary on May 8.

Harry started the Paralympic-style sporting tournament in 2014 and it has been one of his greatest passion projects ever since, with wife Meghan Markle also getting involved.

The couple made their first public appearance together at the Games’ opening ceremony in Toronto in 2017, where they arrived holding hands.

Meghan’s been by Harry’s side at just about every Invictus Games event since, sparking rumours that she may cross the pond to attend the 10th anniversary event with him next month.

And there’s speculation that the couple may even bring their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, along as well.

Archie turns six on May 6, so his parents may choose to bring him and his sister to the UK to celebrate his special day as a family.

The Sussexes have done it before; they marked Lilibet’s first birthday in June 2022 in England.

Harry and Meghan were there to attend the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations and brought the kids too, but kept them out of the spotlight.

That visit almost two years ago was the last time Archie and Lilibet were in the UK and saw their royal relatives in person.

Meghan last visited in September 2022 to attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, while Harry returned in February this year to see his father, King Charles, after the monarch went public with his cancer diagnosis.

On both occasions, the Sussexes opted to leave their young children at home in the US.

This upcoming Invictus Games event gives them the perfect opportunity to return to the UK as a family and spend time with the King, who has stepped back from public duties.

But the Duke of Sussex has previously voiced concerns about his children’s safety in the UK, due to his ongoing battle for publicly-funded security while there.

“The UK is my home. The UK is central to the heritage of my children and a place I want them to feel at home as much as where they live at the moment in the US,” he said in a statement last year.

“That cannot happen if it’s not possible to keep them safe when they are on UK soil.”

With that in mind, the couple may still choose to leave their children at home in the US in May.

Even if Archie and Lilibet don’t make the trip to the UK next month, there’s another opporuntity for the whole Sussex family to return on the horizon.

Harry’s good friend and Archie’s godfather Hugh Grosvenor, Duke of Westminster, is set to marry fiancée Olivia Henson in June and the Sussexes may score an invite.
