Beatrice and Eugenie would be ‘good’ for royals after Charles left them ‘upset’

Princesses Beatrice and her sister Eugenie had reportedly been left ‘upset’ after being snubbed by King Charles but the sisters could be a ‘good shout’ for the slimmed-down Monarchy

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie would be a ‘good’ addition to the working members of The Royal Family.

It was claimed that the sisters had been left “upset” after their uncle, King Charles, had not asked them to carry out royal duties after both himself and Princess Catherine were left unable to work. The Monarch, 75, and the Princess of Wales, 42, have taken a step back from working life after both being diagnosed with cancer and receiving treatment.

Beatrice, 35, and her sister Eugenie, 34, are not working members of the family and have their own jobs – but they had previously carried out some duties on behalf of the late Queen Elizabeth. But as part of Charles’ reign, the sovereign was keen on having a slimmed-down monarchy, with just himself, Queen Camilla, Prince William, Catherine, Princess Anne, Prince Edward, Duchess Sophie, The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, The Duke of Kent and Princess Alexandra working on behalf of the monarchy.

Following reports that the daughters of Prince Andrew, Duke of York and Sarah, Duchess of York “have a lot to offer”, royal editor Russell Myers claims they would be a good addition to the fold. Speaking to Christine Lampard on ITV’s Lorraine, Myers said of the Princesses stepping up: “I’m not too sure, it’s a good shout. We could do with some sort of young blood to bolster the squad, as it were.”

He added: “Charles has been very been very key, talking about a slimmed-down Monarchy, talking about making it more accountable to the public but you never know in these testing times.” He went on to suggest that Lady Louise Windsor, the daughter of Edward and Sophie could also be a good addition to the fold.

A friend of the sisters previously told the Daily Beast: “It seems mean that the girls aren’t being used at all when they have made it clear they want to be of service, especially when Prince Andrew has been accepted back into the fold. They have done nothing wrong and they shouldn’t be visited with the sins of their father. They are very upset to have been ignored by the king as they feel they have a lot to offer, but ultimately not surprised. They are sanguine about it.”

Meanwhile, another family friend told the publication: “Charles is very fond of the York girls, but everyone, including them, accepts there is no place for them to be full-time working royals. And as the late Queen Elizabeth made clear, being a part-time working royal isn’t an option.”
