One royal expert has said that it is time for the younger royals step up as they could play a vital role in the future of the monarchy.
Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie and Lady Louise Windsor could play a vital role in the future of the monarchy, it has been claimed.
Writing in his latest Palace Confidential newsletter, the Daily Mail’s Richard Eden said that it was a disappointment that all three failed to step out for the annual Easter Sunday service last weekend.
He wrote: “I was disappointed that Beatrice and Eugenie, and their growing families, were not present on Sunday.
“They and their cousins, Lady Louise Windsor and James, the Earl of Wessex, could play a vital role in the future, supporting their cousin Prince William when he eventually succeeds to the throne.”

Speaking of the annual service, he added: “What better way to prepare for becoming full-time royals than joining the family at Easter, the time of renewed hope?”
Speaking of the King, who was recently diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer, Mr Eden praised the monarch for making an appearance.
He wrote: “Having prepared for this job for almost 74 years, King Charles was never going to let a little thing like cancer get in the way of carrying out his duties.”
King Charles made his first appearance since his cancer diagnosis was revealed at the Easter Sunday service.
The King was joined by fellow royals, such as Queen Camilla, Princess Anne and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh. Prince Andrew also stepped out, as well as his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, who – although no longer an official member of the family – made a surprise appearance at the service.

Princess Beatrice and Princess Beatrice are often seen at various royal events, having both made an appearance at the Easter Sunday service last year. At the time, Eugenie was heavily pregnant with her second child.
Lady Louise Windsor is currently studying towards an English degree at the University of St Andrews in Scotland. The timing of the service, which occurred during the university’s term time, was the likely reason for the 20-year-old’s absence last week.
Although Lady Louise was absent, James, the Earl of Wessex attended the Easter Sunday service with their parents last week.
Fewer royals were said to have been invited to attend this year’s service to minimise infection risks for the King.

As well as the royal sisters and Lady Louise, the Prince and Princess of Wales and their family were noticeably absent from last week’s service.
The service occurred just days after the Princess of Wales’s cancer diagnosis was revealed.
The couple then chose to not attend the service, with their three children also all absent.
Princess Kate, 42, revealed her shock diagnosis in an emotional video released on March 22.
