Prince William and Princess Kate tried to extend an olive branch to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle amid the future queen’s cancer journey, a royal expert said.
It is understood the Waleses made a plea to see their young niece and nephew, Archie and Lilibet, the latter has only been to the UK once in her life. Meghan, though, refused the request, according to royal expert Tom Quinn.
“There is no way Meghan would bring the children to the UK. William and Kate have suggested that Meghan and Harry bring the children and that the two couples and their families try to make up, but the suggestion is not leading anywhere so far,” Mr Quinn told The Mirror.
Harry and Meghan, said to have been some of the last royals to know about Kate’s cancer diagnosis, fled the Firm to start a new life in America in 2020. They have an infamously strained relationship with Kate and her husband Prince William after they launched a series of ‘truth bombs’ about their relatives. Royal historian Dr Tessa Dunlop believes the delicate situation may have heightened Harry’s beliefs about his place in the family. “Harry is the self-identifying royal ‘Spare’. And in the wake of his sister-in-law’s health revelations, I expect he feels more spare than ever,” she said.
Meanwhile, despite Prince Harry set to return to the UK in a matter of weeks, one expert says he will have to do some explaining if his plans fall through. Mr Quinn added: “Barring a major upset, Harry will certainly return to the UK for the Invictus games in May it’s his baby. If he decides not to come, it will take some explaining, because everyone will assume it’s because he doesn’t want the awkwardness of having to meet his brother or having to choose not to meet him.”
King Charles lets tourists inside home where Queen died in historic opening
For the first time ever, the public will be able to see where the Royal Family spends their summer holidays, as tourists will be able to explore the most private parts of Balmoral Castle.
The historic gothic-revival-style castle has been privately owned by the royals since 1852, after Queen Victoria and Prince Albert first leased it sight unseen four years before that.
it is well known to have been Queen Elizabeth’s favourite of the royal residences and was of course where she spent her final days, before she passed away in September 2022.
Until now, the only insight into what life behind closed doors for the royals came from holiday snapshots released to the public, or detailed descriptions from Prince Harry’s memoir Spare, the opening pages of which described the summer holiday he was enjoying there when his mother Princess Diana tragically died – but now you can take it all in for yourself.

William’s ‘complicated’ bond with Camilla from ‘huge rows’ to ‘unlikely ally’
They are the two most senior royals who have been steering the Royal Family as both King Charles and the Princess of Wales receive cancer treatment.
And it seems that not only are Queen Camilla and Prince William leading from the front as their spouses take time away from public-facing duties, but have also been brought “closer together” by recent events. The pair were seen standing shoulder to shoulder leading the Royal Family at the annual Commonwealth Day service last month and are set to be the most senior royals out on engagements in the weeks ahead. However, it is believed that William’s relationship with his stepmum and indeed his dad Charles has not been the easiest over the years. So how did they turn their relationship around?
Charles and Camilla went public with their relationship in the early 2000s – several years after the death of William’s late mother Princess Diana – but he and younger brother Prince Harry were not pictured with her in public until 2001.
In her book Prince William: Born to be King, a palace source tells royal biographer Penny Junor: “I think the relationship between them all is warm now but if I’m honest, it wasn’t then. I think they found it hard. To be fair to Camilla, she never tried to be mummy but she was the ‘other woman’ and she was there and taking daddy’s time.”

Kate’s mum ‘needs reassurance’ after ”desperately upsetting’ time, says expert
The Princess of Wales spoke so bravely when she shared the news of her cancer diagnosis with the world. And while people have shown an outpouring of love for Kate at this incredibly difficult time, her ‘desperately upset’ mother Carole Middleton will also be needing support, a royal expert has said.
Kate shared the news of her diagnosis on Friday 22 March in a very moving video that had been filmed just two days prior in Windsor. The Princess sat alone on a bench as she revealed that doctors found the disease was present during post-operative tests following major abdominal surgery in January.
Casually dressed in a Breton striped jumper and jeans, Kate confided: “This of course came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family.”
Kate – who was later praised by her father-in-law King Charles for her bravery in sharing her health battle – is now undergoing preventative chemotherapy with the help of an ‘amazing’ medical team.

Harry ‘feels more Spare than ever’ after Kate cancer announcement – expert
It’s not long until Harry returns to the UK in May to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games. And there is speculation he and William could reunite and start to heal their rift – not least because of Kate’s health diagnosis.
But, Harry and Meghan are on the back foot, according to royal historian and expert Dr Tessa Dunlop. She told the Mirror: “Harry and Meghan posited themselves as the alternative to royalty, the couple who believed in service outside monarchy. They encouraged us to look at them as an American version of royalty-lite (their children are prince and princess). All their branding nudges us towards sideways glances between the House of Montecito and the House of Windsor.
“Duchess Meghan is using more than a touch of regal glamour to brand her new site, American Riveria Orchard. Meanwhile Harry is the self-identifying royal ‘Spare’. And in the wake of his sister- in-law’s health revelations, I expect he feels more spare than ever. The Sussexes must plan their next public move with extreme care. The timing and optics matter like never before.”

Kate Middleton has ‘secret’ royal code name to hide her identity in public
The Princess of Wales had a secret code name that she once accidentally let slip.
Members of the British Royal Family, including the late Queen, King Charlesand Queen Camilla, are known to use pseudonyms for security reasons. They also have sweet nicknames that are used between family members, including Harold, Willy, and Lilibet.
And back in 2010, while Prince Williamwas working as a search and rescue pilot in Wales, Kate let slip one of her own ‘secret’ names. It occurred when the then-Duchess of Cambridge was out shopping for a wetsuit – but had forgotten her purse. When the shop owner, Dave Buckland, asked for her name to reserve the item, she simply responded: “Mrs Cambridge” – very different from her full royal title.
A friend later told the Mail on Sunday: “He was looking straight at her and actually commented that it was quite an unusual surname. He hadn’t a clue who she was. She just smiled and said she’d be back. He hasn’t lived it down since.”

Prince William and Kate ‘far more enthusiastic’ than Harry and Meghan about reunion, claims expert
The Prince and Princess of Wales are hoping to end their feud with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle but the Sussexes aren’t quite so keen, according to a royal expert.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are not close with the Royal Family and have been estranged from Prince William and Princess Kate for years. However, royal author Tom Quinn believes William and Kate are keen to change this.
Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, he said: “Kate and William are far more enthusiastic about trying for a reconciliation than Meghan and Harry.” He also suggested it’s much easier for Meghan and Harry to continue with their strained royal relationships.
Tom said: “Keeping up the feud is easier for Meghan and Harry in many ways because in the States they may be celebrities but they are not under the spotlight in the way Kate and William are.”

Meghan and Harry have developed a strained relationship with William and Kate over the years. The Sussexes slammed the couple in their Netflix docuseries, as well as their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Harry also made a number of accusations about his brother and sister-in-law in his debut memoir Spare. In the book, the Duke of Sussex opened up about an explosive row he had with William, during which the Prince of Wales allegedly called Harry’s wife Meghan “difficult”, “rude” and “abrasive”.
Two royals snubbed from Easter photos after King Charles’ surprise move at church
Royal fans were delighted to see King Charles make his biggest public appearance since starting cancer treatment at the traditional Easter Sunday church service.
The monarch, along with Queen Camilla and several other family members, attended the special service at St George’s Chapel in Windsor and after the ceremony Charles even carried out a surprise walkabout, shaking hands with wellwishers.
The outing was documented on the official Royal Family X and Instagram accounts, with a series of jolly pictures from Easter Sunday being shared showing the likes of the King and Queen, Princess Anne and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, Edward and Sophie, and their son James, the Earl of Wessex.
However, it seems that two other family members who made up the royal party at the weekend were omitted from the snaps – Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson. The Duke of York was forced to step down from public life following his disastrous BBC Newsnight interview in 2019 and is no longer a working royal. He was later stripped of his royal patronages and military affiliations.
His ex-wife Fergie still shares Andrew’s home, Royal Lodge, with him and has recently been seen at several events with the Royal Family. Their appearance came just days before a brand new Netflix drama about his car crash interview on BBC Newsnight about his association with paedophile Jeffrey Epstein drops on the streaming platform.
King Charles reverses lifelong food habit at Queen Camilla’s request
As King Charles focuses on his recovery from cancer, his wife Queen Camilla has encouraged him to reverse a lifelong habit.
Charles has long been known to avoid lunch altogether but The Express reports that Queen Camilla has encouraged him to stop the routine.
The insight comes from expert Sally Bedell Smith – a royal biographer – who claims in her newsletter Royal Extra that “Queen Camilla has been doing double duty, representing the King at engagements around Britain and tending to his comfort at home.
Not unlike Queen Mary, she keeps a close watch on her husband and knows how to hold the line when necessary. “After decades of skipping midday meals to squeeze more work into his busy days, I am told that King Charles III is now eating lunch,” she said.
The habit of missing lunch is said to have come from the monarch’s workaholic nature, and his former press secretary Julian Payne previously explained that this meant his staff had to find workarounds to ensure that the royal had enough energy to get through his long days.
“The King doesn’t eat lunch; so, an early lesson I learnt when out on the road with him was to have a big breakfast or bring a few snack bars with you to keep you going,” he said.
Crew member at Prince Andrew’s Newsnight interview reveals moment that left him ‘aghast’
A photographer who was on set as Prince Andrew gave his car-crash BBC Newsnight interview has revealed the bombshell moment during the chat that left him ‘aghast’.
The disgraced Duke of York was interviewed by then Newsnight host Emily Maitlis in 2019 where he was quizzed about his connection to the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein in the wake of his death. The interview sent shockwaves around the world as Andrew talked about his inability to sweat as well as his connection to Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.
Among those at Buckingham Palace when the interview was recorded almost five years ago was photographer Mark Harrison, who had been hired by the BBC to take photos of the interview.
Speaking on Talk TV, he explained the mention of the royal saying he had visited a Pizza Express restaurant in Woking so could not have met his accuser Virginia Giuffre on the same day, was the bombshell moment. He explained: “I was aghast. Like everyone else was aghast, I suppose, but because it was live, I didn’t know what was going to come next. I had my hand over my mouth at one point.”
Speaking about the Pizza Express moment, he added: “I thought then, ‘That’s a headline’. And then another one came and it was like, ‘Oh, that’s a headline’. I certainly didn’t know it was going to be a headline five years on, but here we are.”
Meghan Markle ‘has good excuse to refuse UK reunion with Kate and Wills, says royal expert
Prince William and Prince Harry could potentially end their ongoing feud when Harry returns to the UK in May – but his wife Meghan Markle has the perfect ‘excuse’ to avoid a reunion with her in-laws, a royal expert has claimed.
The Duke of Sussex is set to fly back to Britain next month in order to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games. Royal watchers have speculated that it could have been the perfect opportunity for the Sussex and Wales families to reunite – not least because of Princess Kate’s recent cancer diagnosis.
But it’s highly unlikely that Meghan will accompany her husband – and she has the perfect excuse, according to Richard Fitzwilliams.
He told the Sun: “Meghan isn’t obviously keen on visiting Britain because she is not popular here. Nor is Harry, but it’s different for him. She’s asked for this. If she comes there will be a huge amount of adverse publicity because of the way she has acted for the past four years. On top of that you have the issue of Archie and Lilibet who are completely blameless.”
Mr Fitzwilliam further noted that the fact Harry recently lost his bid for more security could work in Meghan’s favour, hinting that she could use it as an “excuse” not to visit. But, he claimed their protection “wouldn’t be an issue” should they decide to make the transatlantic journey.
“The security would be decided on a case by case basis, they would make sure the trip was secure from the point of view of the UK,” he said. “I think security could be used as an excuse not to come though.”

Charles’ subtle gestures signal he wants ‘no fuss’ and is still in charge – expert
King Charles performed a series of subtle gestures that show he’s very much still in charge of the Firm despite scaling back public duties amid cancer treatment, according to an expert.
Today, the King led members of the Royal Family at their annual Easter Sunday church service at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle – and afterwards even did a short walkabout greeting members of the public with Queen Camilla. It has been the King’s most significant public appearance since his cancer diagnosis and as he shook hands with wellwishers, one told him: “Keep going strong, keep going strong, never give in.”
Since the news of his cancer was revealed, the monarch has stepped back from public-facing duties while he undergoes treatment.
But despite being missing from public life recently, body language expert Judi James said it’s clear to see he’s very much still in charge when it comes to his family. She told the Mirror: “With the rest of his family arriving wearing rather choreographed-looking smiles of resilience and an almost carefree air, Charles appeared with his own body language suggesting he is still very much head of the Firm and head of his family.
“The royals tend to offer continuity and a reassuring lack of change to the nation and this was still the message from the King’s body language today. Charles’s shoulders might have looked a little more hunched than usual and his face is slimmer but his body language signals were all about upbeat good humour and even enthusiasm and energy.
Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie ‘upset’ by King Charles snub amid slimmed-down monarchy
Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie have reportedly been left ‘upset’ they’ve not been asked to carry out royal duties in the wake of the monarchy’s cancer news.
King Charles has currently stepped back from public-facing duties as he receives treatment for cancer while the Princess of Wales is also undergoing preventative chemotherapy after her own cancer diagnosis. This also means that Prince William has scaled back his diary in order to care for his wife and three children.
The monarchy had already been slimmed down in recent years with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle quitting royal duties to move to America and Prince Andrew being forced to step away from public life.
The Duke of York’s daughters do not carry out royal duties and have jobs of their own but many fans have suggested they could step up for their uncle the King to help share the royal workload – especially with Charles and Kate receiving cancer treatment. And a friend of the pair told the Daily Beast the two sisters have “a lot to offer” but have not been asked to step up. They explained: “It seems mean that the girls aren’t being used at all when they have made it clear they want to be of service, especially when Prince Andrew has been accepted back into the fold.
“They have done nothing wrong and they shouldn’t be visited with the sins of their father. They are very upset to have been ignored by the king as they feel they have a lot to offer, but ultimately not surprised. They are sanguine about it.”
Princess Diana’s ‘greatest fear’ may be realised with Harry and William, claims expert
Prince William has experienced more than his fair share of personal challenges, but watching his father King Charles and his wife Kate go through cancer treatment together is likely to be one of the most difficult to date.
And royal author and journalist Anna Pasternak – stated that Diana had always been extremely worried that the crown itself would end up being the factor that created distance between her two sons, with the responsibilities of becoming King eventually “pulling her sons apart”.
As per The Independent, Pasternak – the author of The American Duchess: The Real Wallis Simpson – compared the brothers’ relationship to that of King George VI and his elder brother Edward VIII – who abdicated the throne after less than a year.
She warned there was not only a danger of history repeating itself in the House of Windsor if William and Harry were not encouraged to reconcile, but of Diana’s “greatest fear” coming true.
“Who knows if those close to the brothers behind the scenes are now lobbying for a reconciliation?” Ms Pasternak wrote. “The tentative approaches recently have been described as having the tone of ‘two wary diplomats’. It was Diana’s greatest fear that William’s role as king would be the thing that pulled her sons apart.
“For now, it would appear that their rancour is playing out as it did for Edward and their great-grandfather Bertie. But fate doesn’t have to be sealed indefinitely, patterns don’t have to be repeated and healing can come from unexpected events.”
Prince William and Kate’s olive branch was rejected by Meghan Markle, says royal expert
Prince William and Princess Kate reached out to Prince Harry and wife Meghan Markle in an attempt to end their rift, according to a royal expert.
The Sussexes relationship with the royals is at an all-time low following the release of Harry’s tell-all memoir Spare. But that didn’t stop his brother and sister-in-law from extending an olive branch to the couple.
Royal author Tom Quinn spoke to the Mirror about Harry and Meghan’s strained relationship with his family – and how William and Kate tried to fix this. He claimed that the Prince and Princess suggested that Harry and Meghan bring their children, Archie, four, and Lilibet, two, back to the UK so they can spend time together – but Meghan put her foot down.
Tom said: “There is no way Meghan would bring the children to the UK. William and Kate have suggested that Meghan and Harry bring the children and that the two couples and their families try to make up, but the suggestion is not leading anywhere so far.”
Harry is in fact due to return to the UK next month to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games . However, given his public concerns about his family’s safety, his wife and children are expected to stay back in the US.
It also remains to be seen whether or not he will see his father or his brother William during his stay; the feuding brothers did not spend any time together when Harry last returned to London in February.
Tom said: “Barring a major upset, Harry will certainly return to the UK for the Invictus games in May – it’s his baby. If he decides not to come, it will take some explaining, because everyone will assume it’s because he doesn’t want the awkwardness of having to meet his brother or having to choose not to meet him.”
The expert continued: “Not coming would be worse than finding some sort of compromise where Harry sees William for 10 minutes or comes up with some reason why he doesn’t have time to see his brother and his father and has to get back to the States quickly to be with his children. But no one is going to be fooled by these excuses.”
Andy Cohen admits he was a ‘numpty’ to Kate Middleton and apologises for fuelling rumours
American media personality and talk show host Andy Cohen has finally issued an apology to Kate Middleton after he fuelled speculation over her whereabouts before she revealed her cancer diagnosis.
The Princess of Wales revealed her cancer diagnosis last month, with the announcement broadcast around the world following weeks of speculation in regards to her health and whereabouts. Earlier this year she underwent abdominal surgery at The London Clinic, with speculation rife before it ramped up again after a photo she shared on Mother’s Day after it was “manipulated” and hit with a “kill notification” by photo agencies around the globe.
Amid the speculation surrounding the Princess, US media personality Mr Cohen, 55, came under fire after he shared his thoughts on the rumours and speculation of Kate’s absence from the spotlight. He also spoke of a nasty theory on his podcast, with this being shared just hours before Kate’s shocking announcement was revealed.
But now Mr Cohen has expressed his regret, with him revealing that he “wishes he had kept his mouth shut”. Speaking on his SiriusXM radio show, Andy Cohen Live, he said: “I just want to say I am heartbroken by the news about Princess Kate. I think someone on Sky News called me a numpty, and they were right. I wish I had kept my mouth shut.”
He went on to add that his apology and him finally addressing the topic took a while due to his radio show having a short hiatus.
Shortly before Kate unveiled her cancer diagnosis to the world, the Princess of Wales was seen with her husband Prince William at a farm shop in Windsor. At the time, speculation swirled that the Princess had a “body double”, with Mr Cohen adding fuel to the fire when he penned: “That ain’t Kate…”.
Prince George’s stunning resemblance to young King spotted by delighted royal fans
Prince George’s stunning resemblance to young King Charles has been spotted by amazed royal fans.
They spotted the close likeness between King Charles III and Prince George in footage on social media uploaded on a social media site. He is the first grandchild of the late Queen and was born in 2013 with two younger siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis who now often steal the limelight.
Often compared to their late grandmother, Princess Diana, fans have now began to notice how they look they look like King Charles after being seen at public engagements such as Trooping the Colour.
The Daily Star reported that a social media account dedicated to the nine-year-old @princegeorgeeditxs, had now gone viral for sharing a clip of George and Charles’ likeness.
In the video, which has gained more than 18,000 likes, the TikTok user shared a clip of George at a royal engagement before a black-and-white video of Charles pulling similar faces when he was around the same age. They then declared in the caption: “Their faces are very similar.”
But they weren’t the only one to think so, as other fans took to the comments gushing over the likeness of the pair. One user said: “Awwww they look exactly the same never noticed!!” Another commented: “FINALLY SOMEONE WHO AGREES!” A third added: “Twins!!”
Kate Middleton and William ‘want peace and quiet’ when Harry returns to the UK
Prince William and Kate Middleton, are said to want “peace and quiet” when Prince Harry makes his return to the UK next month.
According to reports, Prince Harry will speak at the Invictus Games 10th Anniversary Service in just a few weeks. The Duke of Sussex is reported to be making his speech at St. Paul’s Cathedral on May 8 for the event, meaning he will have to jet from California to London.
This comes after Princess Kate’s cancer diagnosis announcement, which has since sparked speculation that the ongoing royal rift could be mended. Last month, the Princess of Wales announced that she had been diagnosed with cancer earlier in the year following abdominal surgery at The London Clinic.
Friends of the Waleses have spoken out about how they really feel about Harry’s return to his homeland. According to one pal who spoke to Daily Beast, the Waleses want “peace and quiet for them and the kids”, with the source noting: “A visit from Harry, with all the drama that would bring, would be the opposite of that.”
Meanwhile, another said that the Waleses have “come to terms” with the estrangement between them and the Sussexes, “and are content to let sleeping dogs lie”. The second friend also claimed that the Waleses “have bigger things to worry about” other than responding to the Sussexes after they “reached out”.
Meghan Markle sweetly kisses Archie in rare photo from Montecito mansion
Meghan Markle gently kissed her son Prince Archie in a heart-warming moment which was caught on camera and shared with fans.
In a throwback snap, which was shared on Meghan and Prince Harry’s Netflix docuseries, the Duchess of Sussex was seen planting a kiss on Archie when he was a baby. The mother and son were spending time together in the nursery at Frogmore Cottage.
The Duke of Sussex made sure to capture the precious moment on camera. In the snap, Meghan looked beautiful wearing a white dress with a paisley blue pattern.
Archie was seen reaching up to his mum and holding her face as he kissed her. The tot looked adorable dressed in a white shirt and matching silk jacket.
When Archie was born, he lived with his parents in Frogmore Cottage, Windsor. However, the family temporarily relocated to Vancouver Island in Canada at the end of 2019 before moving to Montecito, California, when they stepped down as senior royals in 2020.
Harry and Meghan then welcomed their second child, Princess Lilibet, in June 2021. The youngster had a gorgeous nursery, which was complete with leaves and woodland creatures on the walls.
Harry and Meghan Markle ‘no longer seen as royals’ in America after ‘doing family wrong’
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are no longer seen as royals in America, according to a world-famous musician.
The Fun Lovin Criminals star Huey Morgan has claimed that the couple have caused derision over their motives in returning to the US from the UK and it has caused them to suffer a fall from grace. Huey, who hails from New York but lives in the UK has claimed that Americans see the Royal Family like “Disney World” and that people are obsessed with the idea of knowing the ins and outs of life in the Palace.
However, Huey believes Harry and Meghan have lost their sparkle when it comes to the US loving the Royals after they became part of “the Hollywood clique.”
Huey told Express.co.uk: “They gave up their royal titles right, so he’s just a dude living in America like 340 million other people. I don’t think people in America really look at them as royalty, I think they look at Charles, William and his wife as royalty, and he [Harry] is like the dude that skipped, you know.”
He added: “He’s not a royal, but they’re in that whole Hollywood clique, where people kind of look at them and roll their eyes. I mean everyone does to the Hollywood people, but the whole idea of royalty in America is a novelty.”
Kate Middleton suffered awkward moment with Meghan Markle over ‘seat confusion’
Kate Middleton once suffered an awkward moment with Meghan Markle in an instant of ‘seat confusion’ at Queen Elizabeth’s funeral.
The unfortunate moment, caught live on TV, happened when the procession happened in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle as the Royal family approached where they were due to sit for the memorial service. Prince William directed his family members on when they could take their seats in a row assigned to them.
He instructed Prince George to wait, but Kate appeared unaware of this and attempted to walk down the aisle. William pointed out they should hold on and she stepped back to allow Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to go before them.
The Daily Star reported Charlotte walked down and sat next to Harry and shared a touching moment when she adjusted her hat before looking over at her uncle. Harry then briefly looked up and caught her eye and smiled at the young princess.
With Princess Charlotte sat next to her uncle Prince Harry, her brother Prince George was sat between their parents the Prince and Princess of Wales. It was then the first time William and Kate’s kids have been seen in public since the Queen’s death – and it was understood the royal couple thought long and hard while having discussions with the children before deciding they would attend.
King Charles’ joke about Camilla on royal walkabout
King Charles was overheard making a joke about his wife Queen Camilla while on a walkabout on Easter Sunday.
The monarch, who was diagnosed with cancer in January, attended the service at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle with the Queen in what was his most significant public appearance since his diagnosis.
Charles, 75, shook hands and spoke with those who had gathered at the castle in a surprise walkabout following the service, and told them: “You’re very brave to stand out here in the cold.”
As he turned to leave one part of the crowd where he had been greeting wellwishers a woman said: “Your Majesty, Camilla is 17 now, my King Charles spaniel.”
The King, who was on the walkabout with Camilla, then turned to the woman in the crowd and joked: “I would get a new one as well.”
William and Camilla’s bond as pair will likely ‘confide in each other’ says royal expert
Prince William has grown much closer to Queen Camilla and the pair have now formed a tight bond – despite the future king’s feelings towards her initially being “complicated”, a royal expert has revealed.
Despite his privileged background, William has faced many personal challenges. He’s had to deal with the loss of his beloved mother and grandmother, the estrangement from his brother Prince Harry, his father’s cancer diagnosis and now his wife is battling the same harsh disease. The list of people Prince William can turn to for personal support is limited.
However, after a few rocky years, there is one family member that 41 year old William can look to for guidance simply because they find themselves in the same tough situation – and the pair are “putting on a brave face” together while their partners go through their battles.
“Recent events have obviously brought Prince William and Queen Camilla much closer,” former BBC Royal correspondent Jennie Bond said. “They have been left, almost literally, nursing the crown while the King and the Princess recover.”
Talking about how the relationship between the pair will have been strengthened since the King and Kate were both being treated at the London Clinic back in January, Jennie tells OK!: “Times of adversity often bring people much closer together. For all the progress that has been made in cancer treatment, it is still a scary thing.
“And while Camilla and William put on a brave face for the world (and no doubt for their spouses too), there may be times when they confide in one another about how they are dealing with it all. When the late Queen died, William spoke of how she had been at his side at ‘the happiest moments’ and ‘saddest days of his life’. Now, Camilla is sharing some of those times with him and it must surely cement their relationship.”
Inside Prince Harry’s ‘true feelings’ over Kate Middleton’s cancer announcement – expert
Prince Harry and Meghan are said to have been some of the last royals to know about Kate’s cancer diagnosis.
The former working royals, who fled the Firm to start a new life in America in 2020, have an infamously strained relationship with Kate and her husband Prince William after they launched a series of ‘truth bombs’ about their relatives.
Harry went to town on Kate in his autobiography, Spare, and claimed William physically attacked him after a row about Meghan. And with relations at a reported all-time low, it has been claimed that the Sussexes were kept in the dark about Kate’s diagnosis until the last minute.
When Kate’s cancer news was revealed in a moving video on March 22, Harry and Meghan made a short public statement, sending ” health and healing” to her and her family. It was later reported that the Sussexes had been in touch privately with William and Kate.
But royal historian and expert Dr Tessa Dunlop believes the delicate situation may have heightened Harry’s beliefs about his place in the family. “Harry is the self-identifying royal ‘Spare’. And in the wake of his sister-in-law’s health revelations, I expect he feels more spare than ever,” she said.
Prince Harry’s inheritance payout beat William’s as royal left him more than brother for key reason
The Royal Family were remembering the Queen Mother last week, on the 22nd anniversary of her passing. She was very close to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and had thought about their financial futures long before she died.
It’s said that she put a large amount of her money into a trust fund for all her great-grandchildren. But Prince Harry got more than his brother William from the Queen Mother, for an important reason. When she died at 101, the brothers had £14million to share, but Harry got more. The reason behind this discrepancy in inheritance allocation is due to how money works in the Royal family and can be attributed to the differences in the princes’ future financial prospects.
When the Queen passes away and Prince Charles becomes king, William will likely be the new Prince of Wales. This means he’ll get the Duchy of Cornwall, a private estate that pays for the public, charitable and private activities of the heir to the throne.

William grows ‘much closer’ to key royal amid cancer shocks
Prince William has grown much closer to Queen Camilla and the pair have now formed a tight bond – despite the future king’s feelings towards her initially being “complicated”, a royal expert has revealed.

Prince William and Kate ‘asked Harry and Meghan to bring their children to visit’, says expert
Prince William and Princess Kate are trying their best to end their feud with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, according to one royal expert.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have a strained relationship with the Royal Family and they are currently estranged from the Prince and Princess of Wales. However, royal author Tom Quinn has said William and Kate have tried to fix this.
Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, he said the couple have reached out to Meghan and Harry and urged them to bring their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to the UK to visit. However, it’s believed Meghan has put her foot down and refused.
Tom told us: “There is no way Meghan would bring the children to the UK. William and Kate have suggested that Meghan and Harry bring the children and that the two couples and their families try to make up, but the suggestion is not leading anywhere so far.”
