Speculation is rife regarding Prince Harry and potentially Meghan Markle’s intentions to visit England and personally convey their well-wishes to Kate Middleton. However, Prince William has reportedly urged his younger brother to remain in California and take things slow.
Following Kate Middleton’s public appearance to share a heartfelt cancer diagnosis announcement, reports emerged suggesting Prince Harry’s desire to reconnect with his sister-in-law.
Despite this, sources close to Prince William and Kate Middleton have emphasized the need for calm during Middleton’s recovery, signaling a desire to avoid additional drama or stress.
Insiders suggest that Middleton has opted to exclude meetings with Prince Harry and Markle, prioritizing her well-being.
“Catherine and William have been very clear; they want peace and quiet for them and the kids,” a source told The Daily Beast.
“A visit from Harry, with all the drama that would bring, would be the opposite of that.”
Estrangement between Middleton and the Sussexes
Speculations about a permanent estrangement between Middleton and the Sussexes have also surfaced, with royal commentator Duncan Larcombe weighing in on the situation, indicating the challenges stemming from past revelations and actions by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
“Harry and Meghan have got some sense so they know it is important to be seen as extending the olive branch, especially given that global sympathy is with Kate right now,” Larcombe said.
“But William and Kate don’t need long memories to recall that not too far back they were being subjected to very harmful allegations, to which, incidentally, it was impossible for them to come back and answer and have their say.
“So it’s not very surprising that Harry doesn’t really matter to them right now. A cancer diagnosis puts things in perspective.”
